Greetings! On October 30, 2025, the Tobin College of Business at St. John’s University will host its Fall 2025 Henry George Lecture, featuring Dr. Willi Semmler, professor of economics at The New School for Social Research and a leading scholar in macroeconomic dynamics, climate economics, and sustainable finance. Dr. Semmler’s lecture, titled “Climate Risks, Energy Transition, and Sustainable Finance — Is a Carbon Wealth Tax a Useful Instrument?”, will explore the intersections of climate change, financial systems, and global economic development. The event will start at 1:50 p.m. Eastern Standard Time in the Munson Lecture Hall on St. John’s University’s Queens campus.
