Exceptional Notice – a new book from SIMPOL – pertinent to all our initiatives for inclusive justice
Climate change, mass migration, unfettered corporate power, religious fanaticism, inequality, the rise of the far right … Individually these problems are tough enough; combined, they’re surely insurmountable.
Or are they?
The Simpol Solution explains why our efforts to deal with these issues are failing and proposes new ways of thinking that can help us tackle them. Drawing on a multinational movement already gaining momentum among politicians and academics, this game-changing book proposes a solution which shows that solving global problems could be closer than we think.
‘The Simpol Solution takes a welcome fresh look at political/economic reality and clearly explains the psychology behind why we need new eyes to see how we might force politicians to change the world on our behalf.‘ — Joris Luyendljk, author, journalist and talk-show host
‘I nodded until I got a crick in my neck. I haven’t read a book for years that I agreed with so deeply and so consistently — nor felt so keenly that these are messages the world needs to hear.’— Simon Anholt, founder, the Good Country Index
‘[The Simpol Solution] shows the real possibilities of a worldcentric paradigm \ shift, transcending from a competitive to a cooperative evolution and mode of consciousness. A real pleasure to read and a potential political pathbreaker.’ — Professor Ugo Mattel, University of CA
‘A courageous and urgently needed book.‘ – Ervin Laszlo, author, philosopher and evolutionary systems theorist

From chapter on ‘An Evolutionary perspective’
“This factor of conscious intentionality is sometimes referred to as `conscious evolution, and this is a point where scientists and mystics are increasingly finding common ground. In the prestigious journal Astronomy, the particle physicist and cosmologist Professor Edward Kolb proposes nature’s most miraculous transformation to be that the universe evolved the capacity to contemplate and understand itself.
If global cooperation and governance of the kind we have described is highly unlikely to emerge by chance, humanity needs to take responsibility for consciously establishing it, and to do that we need to devise and then to coalesce around a viable, practical and appropriate strategy. It is our hope that this book may offer an answer to what such a strategy might look like and how it might work.
As we’ve argued throughout The Simpol Solution, to intervene appropriately and to establish a form of global governance we need a world-centric level of consciousness to proliferate among a relatively small but critical, mass of people. Armed with worldcentric thinking, new values and new modes of action such as Simpol arise. We can then consciously participate in our own evolution. We can assist it and help ourselves to consciously establish global cooperation and governance. It is to that task that evolution now calls us.
But nothing will happen without you. You – we – as many of us as possible need to act together, consciously and intentionally, to make it happen.”
Last Paragraph 3 paragraphs: “Inherent to the idea of simultaneity – of global reconciliation and oneness – are the act of forgiveness and the mutuality principle known as the Golden Rule: to do globally as we would be done by. To support Simpol is to understand fully the vicious circle of Destructive Global Competition and how it effectively forces political leaders, business people, indeed everyone to engage in and condone behaviours we know to be harmful. To support Simpol is to forgive those in charge and ourselves. It is to understand that although no one is really to blame for our predicament we are all jointly responsible for overcoming it – and that we can do it if we choose to.
Simpol may not have all the answers. Simpol is not designed to address every problem but is tailored towards solving global problems. This means that all the various solutions presently being pursued by NGOs, governments and others still remain important at regional, national and local levels. For the global level, Simpol seems to answer more key questions and meets more key criteria than any other proposal we have seen so far. If this is correct, and with the world deteriorating as we write, perhaps the important question now is not so much whether Simpol can work but whether a better idea is immediately available? If not, we invite you to help get the ball rolling by using your vote in the powerful way Simpol offers. You can sign on to the campaign for free at simpol.org.
Remember, it cannot happen without you, without each of us actually taking that action. We may individually have little to lose by taking such a step, but possibly there is a whole world to gain. At the very least we will have reclaimed our sovereignty and dignity as individual citizens along with our right to decide on our common global future – and potentially we will have the chance to establish a form of people-centred global governance that expresses our common humanity, that acknowledges that we are not just great competitors but supreme co-operators and that releases us to fulfil the mature destiny of our species.
