Dear Associates
Further to Mother Pelican – November 2023
I’ve only read the first article of the recent Mother Pelican and yet feel I should recommend it to all.
Luis T. Gutiérrez himself concludes the collection :
“Human development in harmony with nature is the existential challenge of our time. The mission of this journal is to foster integral human development in an integral ecology. You are invited to submit comments, suggestions, and articles for publication. Deadline is the 15th of the month to be considered for the following month.”
I keep hoping that associates will themselves offer articles—by the 15th of each month !!
The first article :
| and from the October issue: Working Together for a Better World – Riane Eisler’s Conclusion Diverse movements such as the environmental, racial justice, LGBTQ+ rights, and women’s empowerment movements require a unifying framework: a comprehensive partnership approach, recognizing our interconnection with one another and the natural world. This new frame encompasses family, childhood, gender, economic, and political relations, and is key to a successful whole-systems transformation and a better world. Riane Eisler is President of the Center for Partnership Systems and Editor-in-Chief of the Interdisciplinary Journal of Partnership Studies. |
A new associate makes her comment: I have just been trying to digest the article by Ben Shread-Hewitt on ‘Convergence: The climate and economy are one.’ in the MP publication. It makes sense but is troubling.
I was interested in the quote included by Mother Pelican – underneath but outside the above mentioned article -“RELIGION IS A CULTURE OF FAITH; SCIENCE IS A CULTURE OF DOUBT.” Quite a subtle comment. I am just skirting the essence of these articles and glad that the authors appear to be taking some kind of action using their skills and knowledge. It is important that corruption doesn’t creep in.
Further comments welcome – Peter
