With Passiontide upon us, a small sub-set of the Open Global Table reflected on the massive mind shift required of us all. Herewith our first draft, available for keen critique, amendment or replacement.

LISTENING WITH THE COSMIC BEGINNER’S MIND

Cosmic consciousness is the universal context for all minutiae.
The origin of all observations, all objects, even all honesty,
and so for you and me our only source,
even the origin of imagination, growing comprehension,
our first and lasting sense of life’s ever-evolving intention.

The phenomenon of evolution demands of us a beginner’s mind.
Whatever scholarship, breadth of knowledge, depth of insight,
boldness of speech, struggle with spelling; we all can thrive
only by tentative conviction and the art of listening.
Tomorrow never comes, we wisely say, it is ever stretching out.

Split-second by each second, to minutes, hours,
days into months, for light-years ahead,
so, in humility, we listen, learn, lean only on probability,
not deadening certainty, except in holding to
just three letters, G and, O and D, for all that is, I Am.

We sum true learning up in living compassionately,
inspired by example of ancient prophecy, then
of a man who listened, lived and died rather than surrender
his exemplary ways to human dominance and conceit.
And that abiding five letter example inspires true faith in many.

So time moves ever on, inspired by witnessing visionaries
Like Francis, Gandhi, Tutu, Martin Luther King
Dawkins, Lovelock, Margulis, Primavesi, latterly Rohr and Fox,
Kucinich, Attenborough, and Cox, Greta, Amanda,
all listening as a child, conceived, nurtured, matured in cosmic
awareness, yet with a trusting, true beginner’s mind.

THUS, THE LIVING WORD OF GOD, I AM, ENDURES
