UPDATE FROM THE AMERICAN MONETARY INSTITUTE

| Hi Peter, We are planning the AMI ZOOM conference for the weekend of November 5th to 7th. We choose this weekend to accommodate religious holidays and the schedules of some AMI Friends. Please put it on your calendars! I just want to share some analytics from our prior mailing: Zarlenga had built up a steady following of 9000+ subscribers. Due to error messages and the subscribing link being defunct for a few years, the subscriber list fell to roughly 4000. The open rate The open rate from our first email sent six weeks ago was 18% which is considered pretty high, and it was 50% more than AMI emails from a few years ago. Of the 4000 emails sent, I received a 1% response rate where people replied with emails. Some email replies represented more than one person, and I received about 20 responses from other individuals who already knew about the changes going on with AMI and were in regular contact with me. Two percent may not be a high number, but from that number came an assortment of people open to stewardship to help AMI. Thank you for opening and reading these email. It helps to know the information is reaching people. Presently we are engaged in three areas of work at AMI: 1) Preparing an online catalog/index of Stephen Zarlenga and Bob Poteat’s papers; 2) relaunching the AMI website with upgrades for conferencing and communication – all with Wisevu’s team; 3) preparing for the 2021 fall conference. The cataloging is going well with description, indexing and scanning. If anyone has concerns about the needs of researchers, please contact me. The website development is coming along. If you want to be involved with researching, writing, and editing and haven’t yet, again, please let me know. The AMI fall ZOOM Conference needs stewardship. We need two or three people familiar with the monetary reform movement and have a regular amount of time they can give to making the AMI Conference happen. Being an AMI Conference steward means you will help select and correspond with potential speakers. As always, we also want to further diversity and bring in new ideas. Conference stewards need to be available for ZOOM meetings. We will send out update letter #3 in July. If you have come across people you would recommend as speakers or coordinators, please let me know. For your education and entertainment our sister organization the: Alliance For Just Money announced the Just Money Festival to be held on Friday evening and Saturday, July 23rd & 24th, 2021. You are invited to attend this invigorating event! We’ll have storytelling, singing, and fellowship to promote monetary reform. Friday night, the AFJM Youth Caucus will present the basics of monetary reform for newcomers. In addition, veterans will have their meet-up rooms. Saturday, Katharina Serafimova will keynote after a welcome at noon (Central Time in the United States) the festival to help us reconnect to nature, money, productivity, and community. Later, Holly Kerby will help us use StoryForm Science to make our monetary reform message personal, focused, and impactful. We’ll wind up in concurrent breakout rooms to apply what we learn to various audiences via different media modes. Saturday evening, we will celebrate with song, creativity, spoken word, and what we can share. We’ll officially wrap up by 8pm (Central Time in the United States). The Just Money Festival is a space for us to inform, entertain and bond with each other. We welcome all our members and subscribers, newcomers, and friends. |
