Life has many pools of waiting,

pools needing streams of patience

feeding them, less woefully

they shrink to boredom

with precious time foregone.

Such pools can be enriched

by contemplation, by deeper,

wider discernment of the mysteries

of this sacred planet’s all pervading life

in its greater cosmic context

out from which all life flows.

Thus from a pool of quiet reflection

can flow a refreshing stream of

 newer, deeper, wider, richer too,

use of the talents with which

each of us has been endowed.
