| Here is why this is a really powerful action for you to take: The government is desperate for the public to believe that they’re helping the people on NHS waiting lists by giving more money to the private sector. Well, we’ve spoken to many people on NHS waiting lists and their message to the government is very clear. “Stop pouring money into private companies that just put a sticking plaster on everything.” “Stop giving NHS funds to private companies, which only results in money going to private shareholders and doesn’t help us.” Those are their exact words in a video message to the government. And we know they are not alone. Our recent polling shows a majority of the public wants money put into our NHS – not into private healthcare companies. If enough of us make it clear we refuse to take this lying down, then we have a chance to stop this plan. |

After thousands of us emailed our MPs to demand they ask their political parties to commit to investing in our NHS, not in private profit, we are beginning to see some movement from key political parties. The SNP have now told us they “see no role for the private sector in the NHS”, and that they will “oppose any efforts to impose NHS privatisation on Scotland”. You’re only just getting started – but this shows you have a powerful voice. You can continue to push and make it more and more difficult for politicians to pretend they aren’t hearing you.
