Thoughts on the CCMJ Appraisal and your summer recreational renewal

Considering the returns to date in our 2016/7 Appraisal, I offer for wider reflection this gathered impression of lively faith and enquiry being made manifest in a wide range of witness.

The current Reith lectures are reminders of the historical novels’ moral imagination’s potential ability to open up historical records and enhance the depth of both the search for, and the application of, matters of inclusive justice.  Reminding needed especially when much of the history taught is encultured by the taste of the ‘victors’.

This heightening of the moral imagination around political and economic history and its modern impact on public policy is something we are seeking and applying in our CCMJ association.

Thus thoughts on ……………………………..

God – that “vocative, e-vocative, pro-vocative force hiding in the shadow of our anthropocentric word and encultured, even instituionalised,  image of God.”

Vocation: the awakening of the deep inner joy of meeting deep needs in the world

E-vocative: the stirring of our lethargy into furthering the development and strength of our natural and nurtured talents for service to community

Pro-vocative:  the maturing of spiritual defiance against ego, orthodoxy and empire as they often arise in hierarchical institutions, to open up anew our moral imagination in the shared search for inclusive justice along the road to peace and the eternal flow of life – the pilgrim’s way wherein we seek to rid the world of usury..
